Useful Information

The 16^th International Congress of Aesthetics Brazil will be held in the Institute for Humanities and Philosophy (ICHF) of Universidade Federal Fluminense (UFF). The insttitute is located in the Gragoatá Campus of the university, by the Guanabara Bay in Niteroi, Rio de Janeiro. Congress ativitires will take place in blocks O and P of the campus. Check below some useful information for participants.

Transportation

The Gragoatá Campus is located close to downtown Niteroi, which is easily accessible by public or private transportation.

Bus (Rio de Janeiro)

The main bus lines connecting Rio de Janeiro and Niteroi are operated by Auto Viação 1001. Check below a few options for some locations in Rio. For further information please refere to Auto Viação 1001’s website.

Copacabana, Ipanema: 740D, 2740D (executive bus)

Bus (Niteroi)

The main lines serving the Gragoatá Camous are 47, 47A and 47B.

Ferry

It is possible to reach donwtown Niteroi by ferry from Praça XV Square in Rio de Janeiro. The Gragoatá Campus is a ten-minute walk from the ferry station at Arariboia Square.

Uber

Uber is the preferred private transportation application both in Rio de Janeiro and Niteroi. A trip between Rio and Niteroi (downtown Rio-Gragoatá Campus) usually costs around R$50, depending on the hour and surge pricing.

Restaurants

Trailers and small diners provide quick meals inside the campus. For lunch and dinner, there are popular options in the Cantareira Square (in front of campus entrance) and more sophisticated restaurantes and bars in the Reserva Cultural Mall (next to campus entrance). There is also a larger variety of restaurantes, cafés and diners in the Plaza Niteroi Mall, in downtown Niteroi, close to the ferry station (ten minute walk from campus).

Lodging

There are many hotels and AirBnB options both in Niteroi and Rio de Janeiro. The hotels below are located within a ten-minute walk from Gragoatá Campus.

Hotel Cantareira: Rua General Osório, 62 (close to Cantareira Square)
Niteroi Palace Hotel: Rua General Andrade Neves, 134 (close to Plaza Niteroi Mall)

Congress venues are located in blocks O and P of the Gragotá Camous.

Room O-510: block O, fifth floor, right wing when leaving the elevator
Room O-516: block O, fifth floor, right wing when leaving the elevator
Room O-342 (Fernando Ribeiro Conference Room): block O, third floor, right wing when leaving the elevator
Room 2 Block P: block P, ground floor, right wing when entering the building
Block P Conference Room: block P, ground floor, left wing when entering the building
